This policy has been designed to explain the information we collect, how and why we collect it and when and how it is used. We will keep this webpage as up to date as possible, reviewing our policies periodically to ensure openness and clarity between all parties.

Personal data relates to any living individual who can be identified from that data. At Global Island, we endeavor to treat everyone’s data in the same secure manner, wherever you are from.

How we collect data

When you call us, fill out a website form, email us, or book a travel program with us, all the data relevant to your query or travel program (or potential travel program) is collected securely in our internal database. This information is stored securely by us internally and is not stored on our website. However from time to time we utilize an email sending service provider (Mailchimp) to send out relevant communication/emails. The target list for this communication sent by us is chosen carefully and this information is not shared or provided to any other additional third party. When you sign up for our newsletter through our website or send us an inquiry through any of our website inquiry forms or send us an email directly you will be prompted to agree to our privacy policy and ensure you tick a check box which signifies your agreement to receive further communication from us. Only then will we collect your data and if you do not agree your data will not be collected.

Data we collect

Personal data collected through any of the sources mentioned above will usually include your name, email address, phone, country and any other information you choose to provide to us at this stage. When you book a tour, more detailed data such as your address, birth date, passport details (only if we are booking flight tickets or obtaining visas) and health conditions are collected. We also collect information on your interests to ensure the most personal experience and perfectly designed tour for you.

Your content and images

When you send us your content and images after returning from your tour, you are giving us permission to upload them onto the blog section of our website. We may also ask you if we can use your images for marketing purposes (throughout the website and in our digital newsletter, as well as on social media such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter). We will always credit and tag these where relevant. The blog will include your name, photos and the content you have written for the blog. If you do not want your actual name to be shown, please just let us know and we can remove it. We will only use content you send us voluntarily with your permission.

Information for marketing purposes

If you give us consent, we will use your name and email address for marketing purposes via our digital newsletter. We will also occasionally send you more tailored marketing depending on your interests. Our email newsletters are sent using MailChimp. MailChimp safely stores your name, email address and country so we can send you relevant marketing email campaigns and analyze responses. Mail Chimp may need to process personal data to perform some critical tasks, such as preventing abuse and providing support. You can opt out or in to our e-marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails, signing up to our newsletter via the sign-up page, or emailing info@sancharaka.com  with your request.

Who can access your data

We will never sell or rent your data to third parties, only sharing information when it is required to fulfill our obligation to you. Data submitted through our forms is accessible only by us. We do not pass it on to any third parties. Although our website and communications may contain links to other websites, we are not the owners of these sites, and therefore are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites.

Cookies and Google

We use a minimal number of cookies on our website. Cookies are harmless when used responsibly. After visiting our site, you may see ads for Global Island on other websites; this is called Google remarketing. We use Google remarketing for advertising purposes; you can edit your preferences or turn off remarketing.  We also use Google Analytics to review our website and find out such things as how many visitors had to a particular page. Global Island and Google do not attempt to identify anyone from this data. If you do not want your visit to be accessible via Google Analytics, you can opt out here.

We post testimonials to our website periodically. There is no way of identifying you from the data we publish on testimonials on the website. The data included on our testimonials includes first name, surname initial, an excerpt from your feedback and your star rating; it is not possible to identify a person from these testimonials.


The time period for which we keep data depends on the data type. Data is not kept on our systems for longer than is needed, and is periodically reviewed and removed. We have made every effort to ensure your data is stored and processed securely and only those with authorization can access this information and use it responsibly
